Buprenorphine belongs to a category of medicine referred to as mixed opioid agonist-antagonists. It helps prevent withdrawal symptoms caused by stopping different opioids. it’s used as a part of an entire treatment program for drug abuse (such as compliance observation, counseling, behavioural contract, lifestyle changes).

How to use Buprenorphine Hcl pill, Sublingual
Read the Medication Guide provided by your pharmacist before you begin using sublingual buprenorphine and every time you get a refill. If you’ve got any queries, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Use this medication as directed by your doctor, sometimes once daily. Place the medication under your tongue for five to ten minutes and let it dissolve fully. If you’re prescribed over one pill daily, you’ll place all of the tablets underneath your tongue at once or place 2 tablets at a time underneath your tongue. don’t swallow or chew this medication. it’ll not work as well.

Buprenorphine alone is sometimes used for the first two days once you’ve got stopped all different opioids. it’s sometimes given in your doctor’s workplace. Your doctor can then switch you to the mixture buprenorphine/naloxone medication for maintenance treatment. the mix with naloxone works an equivalent method as buprenorphine alone to prevent withdrawal symptoms. it’s combined with naloxone to prevent misuse (injection) of the medication.

Buprenorphine works best when the primary dose is started after signs of opioid withdrawal have begun. Buprenorphine will cause withdrawal symptoms if started timely after your last opioid use. Follow your doctor’s instructions for your treatment plan.

The dose is predicated on your medical condition and response to treatment. don’t increase your dose, take the medication more frequently, or take it for a extended time than prescribed. Properly stop the medication when so directed.
